DETAILS
Deoxidized Copper (DOC) copper-tin alloy is used to weld similar composition base metals, brass, and to weld these copper alloys to steel. Silicon bronze is also frequently used for “braze welding” of coated sheet steels. SIB is available for both GMAW (MIG) and GTAW (TIG) welding processes.
Features
- Designed to weld high copper content base metals with good electrical conductivity
- Can also be used to weld copper-to-steel or to overlay it
- Produces high purity deposits for fabricating deoxidized copper
- Yields trouble-free welds
- Good color match to copper
- Excellent corrosion resistance
- Conforms to ANSI/AWS A 5.7 & ASME SFA-5.7 ERCu
- Use with 100% Argon or 25/75% Argon/Helium shielding gas mixture
- Conforms to ANSI/AWS A 5.7 & ASME SFA-5.7 ERCu
Typical Applications
- Welding copper base metals where good electrical conductivity exists
- Welding copper to steel
