Deoxidized Copper TIG (GTAW)

TIG (GTAW)

Deoxidized copper TIG (GTAW) welding wire for welding copper to steel and copper base metals

DETAILS

Deoxidized Copper TIG (GTAW) welding alloy is used to weld high copper content base metals where good electrical conductivity exists. This alloy produces trouble free welds that are a good color match to copper. Deoxidized copper can also be used to weld copper-to-steel. Conforms to ANSI/AWS A 5.7 & ASME SFA-5.7 ERCu.

Features

  • Designed to weld high copper content base metals with good electrical conductivity
  • Typical applications include welding copper-to-steel or to overlay it
  • Produces high purity deposits for fabricating deoxidized copper
  • Yields trouble-free welds
  • Pre-heat required due to high thermal conductivity of copper base materials. Must select the current and shielding gas for the highest heat input
  • Reddish brown color is a good match to copper
  • Excellent corrosion resistance
  • Use with 100% Argon or 25/75% Argon/Helium shielding gas mixture
  • Conforms to ANSI/AWS A 5.7 & ASME SFA-5.7 ERCu
  • Marked with model number on each end for easy identification after use

Typical Applications

  • Welding copper base metals where good electrical conductivity exists
  • Welding copper to steel

Shielding Gas

  • 100% Argon;25/75% Argon/Helium mixture
