Safety-Silv® 40 is a ductile, free-flowing alloy that is economical while providing good penetration into tight connections at a medium temperature. It is silver-to-light yellow in color making it a good match to polished brass.
Features
- Cadmium-free, silver brazing alloy
- Good ductility
- Often used for corrosive applications or high temperature service. Important to evaluate the suitability for the brazing alloy based on its intended application.
- Good replacement for hazardous cadmium-bearing filler metals
- Moderate temperature alloy with a medium plastic range, making it suitable for brazing assemblies with wider gaps.
- Corrosion resistance is generally similar to copper base metal, but because of its zinc content it should not be used if the braze is exposed to concentrated corrosive liquid for long periods of time.
- Complies with the EU Reach & RoHS directive
