Détails
95/5 tin-antimony solder is a low temperature lead-free solder with a narrow melting range. It is primarily used for copper plumbing tube but can be used for other general soldering applications. The rapid melting characteristics require close fitting connections as it is difficult to "bridge" or fill wide clearances. 95/5 has a higher melting temperature vs. tin/lead solders which is helpful in certain elevated temperature service applications. Meets ASTM B32 Alloy Grade Sb5 standard.
Traits
- 95/5 lead-free tin-antimony solder is environmentally safe with no lead or nickel
- Solidus of 450°F (233°C)
- Liquidus of 464°F (240°F)
- Narrow melting range provides rapid flow when melted
- Reasonably close tolerances of 0.002 in. - 0.005 in. is recommended
- Recommended for lead-free installation of small diameter, tight fitting connections
- The inner core of flux in these solders can result in cost savings due to no additional flux required.
- Yields a silver-gray color when deposited
Applications typiques
- General soldering on copper, brass and steel alloys with acid core
- Soldering electronic connections and copper wire electrical components with rosin core
